Above is a picture of the 2009 J.S.D. tournament (presented by Bloomsburg University football) at Windsor Heights Golf Course this past summer, Rick Musselman was Director Of Golf and ran a flawless tournament. Some of the New York Jet's were in the tournament including the head coach Rex Ryan and staff.
In 2001 Rick had a golf shop in Millville, PA. The Photo below is looking from the inside teaching area toward the retail and repair shop.

Rick was introduced to golf at the age of 17 after joining the Navy in 1960 and was hooked.
He later worked at Navy golf courses when not deployed with his air wing. The most productive learning experience was when he worked with P.G.A. Professional Jack Harvey at N.A.S. Oceana, Virginia, where he learned a wealth of information, everything from teaching to club repair and managing golf operations.
Rick Musselman was in Fighter Squadron 162 which was on board the USS Oriskany in Vietnam.
Rick was honorably disharged from the Navy in 1973, attended Delta College in Saginaw, MI. Rick Graduated from Spartan School Of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK in 1975. After graduating from Spartan School Of Aeronautics, he was hired as an inspector for a copper mining company in Tennessee. He was there approximately two months when he was asked to manage the company's golf course. From there he continued on his lifelong journey in the golf business.
In 1978 Rick taught golf at the Bay County course, in Essexville, Michigan.
In the early 1980's Rick would travel to different golf courses to teach, many golf courses in Michigan did not have golf professionals, Rick traveled to three different courses each week to give private lessons and clinics on Saturdays. Note there were no cell phones just beepers it kept his wife Cheryl busy scheduling lessons and notifying Rick which course to go to next. With all of this going on Rick tried to qualify for the Michigan Open and played several P.A.T. qualifying rounds, one at Walnut Hills Country Club in East Lansing, MI.
Rick Musselman took a break from golf in 2001 and took a position with the Millville High School running the evening library and then became Athletic Director. He continued to do club repair and teach golf as a hobby. He retired as Athletic Director in 2005 and as the demand for club repair increased, he opened Golf Services Unlimited, LLC.
Rick's son Josh Musselman is a PGA professional in Bonita Springs, Florida. Josh owns Golf Express; he is a great teacher and club repairman in his own right, he has been doing repairs and helping his dad conduct lessons since the age of seven.
If you are in the Bonita Springs area stop and see his inside facility or visit his website click here. Rick is very proud of Josh.
Rick also gave golf revivals utilizing a tent as shown above, golfers were hungry for information. Rick was ahead of his time. Before the golf channel and websites good information on golf mechanics were hard to come by.
Rick giving his demonstrational lecture above.
It was a long day! It started at 8:00 am with a breakfast buffet, a slide show and lecture in the club house, then a long ride to the teaching area. Golfers were treated to an enjoyable learning experience. Rick hit balls and demonstrated all types of shots, while telling a few jokes along the way. Then a question and answer period, after that Rick would then evaluate each golfer's swing one by one, as shown above. The clinic would end by mid afternoon. Rick packed the stadium every Saturday. Plus he operated a 4 day golf school and gave private lessons.
Rick above making a point with golfer asking a question. Below Rick's golf school "The Golf Swing Clinic Seminar" was listed in an issue of Golfweek Magazine the year and month John Daly won the British Open. It was a great issue to be listed in.

Rick Musselman's golf school was in the National Golf School Listings; as shown above in the 1995 issue of Golf Week Magazine.
Rick's wife Cheryl above marketing at a beach business expo in Florida. A Pro-Gear Golf Company representative attended one Rick's lectures, the Texas Company asked Rick to promote their equipment at clinics. Rick and Pro Gear became good partners.
Pro Gear drivers were shipped in a cardboard box shaped like a coffin and the drivers were named R.I.P. it was a good advertising tool. Rick sold a ton of R.I.P. Drivers and Pro Gear irons in the golf course pro shop. See the R.I.P ad below. The tent above was to appear to be a funeral tent, it was great marketing on Pro Gear's part.
